Rose Mbise
Rose Mbise is the Deputy General Secretary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania ELCT, with a focus on Social Service and Womens Work. In addition Mrs. Mbise is the director of YWCA Tanzania. Mrs. Mbise has committed to partnering with the African Women of Distinction Project and has offered to play a part in hosting an official launch in Dar es Salaam.

Dr. Rudasingwa
Dr. Rudasingwa is trained and licensed as a medical doctor. He served in the Rwandese Patriotic Front as Field Doctor/Liaison Officer, Member of the Executive Committee, and as Secretary General (1990-1996). He has served as the senior liaison of the Rwandese Patriotic Front to European and African government officials, the Organization of African Unity, the US, and the UN. Dr. Rudasingwa participated in the negotiations with officials of the then Government of Rwanda which led to the Arusha Peace Agreement. Dr. Rudasingwa was appointed Ambassador to the United States in 1996 where he participated in the World Bank’s formulation of a Country Assistance Strategy for Rwanda, participated in the negotiations between the International Monetary Fund and the Government of Rwanda, and established and nurtured a series of strong working relationships with think-tank groups, NGO’s and the Bretton Woods institutions
Dr. Rudasingwa speaks at American colleges and universities about the period of genocide in Rwanda and the immediate challenges facing his country. Dr. Rudasingwa is the author of Background to Genocide and Imperatives of Reconciliation, Justice and Development (1995).

Deborah Reber
Deborah Reber has authored/co-authored several books specializing in pro-social writing for teens, tweens and preschoolers. Deborah has worked in children’s television - developing original programming for Cartoon Network, guiding the ancillary business of Blue’s Clues for Nickelodeon, and producing an international campaign championing children’s rights for UNICEF. http://www.deborahreber.com/

Naana Otoo-Oyortey
Chair, Foundation for Women's Health, Research and Development (FORWARD). FORWARD is an international non-governmental organisation that works to advance the sexual and reproductive health and human rights of African girls and women.
Laura Fortinsky
Laura Fortinsky has worked in Tanzania with an AIDS education organization, raising money to furthur develop its curriculum. She also spent time at an AIDS nursing home helping care for the patients and enroll the orphans in schools. Currently living in New York, Laura is an intern with the African Regional Youth Initiative. She intends to continue work in African development and public health.

Sabrina Messineo
Sabrina Messineo attained her Masters in International Relations in 2006 and has a certificate in negotiation and mediation from the Center for African Peace and Conflict Resolution at California State University, Sacramento. In 2004 she coordinated a tutoring program at a shelter for women and children in Los Angeles and she will be a trainer for an upcoming program that focuses on the incorporation of conflict resolution into the curriculum of Nigerian secondary schools. Her primary interest is post conflict rehabilitation, with an emphasis on the leadership of African women.
