African Women of Empowerment

The African Women of Empowerment (AWOE) project is an official partner to PeaceWomen Across the Globe, an international network of women peacebuilders involving 1000 Nobel Peace nominees. This partnership will increase the visibility of women peacebuilders as well as raise opportunities for public debate, learning and public advocacy on global peace and justice.

 

AWOE project profiles the lives of women in Africa who embody the essence of leadership, determination, and innovation in addressing social, economic and political issues at local, national, and international levels. This is the first of several regional editions of this project.

 

To date, there are over 180 young men and women project interns in 17 countries leading AWOE activities in their communities.
